At Veritas Pharmacy, we offer a private Vitamin D service that includes a mandatory rapid Vitamin D blood test, followed by professional pharmacist assessment and individualised supplementation using oral Vitamin D tablets or injectable Vitamin D, where clinically appropriate.
This service is delivered as a private consultation and is not part of NHS care.
All patients accessing this service must first undergo a Vitamin D rapid blood test.
The test:
Is performed during your appointment
Provides an indication of Vitamin D levels
Helps determine whether supplementation may be appropriate
Supplementation (tablet or injection) is not provided without testing.
Following the test, a GPhC-registered pharmacist will:
Review your test result
Take a relevant medical and medication history
Assess suitability for Vitamin D supplementation
Discuss appropriate supplementation options
Clinical judgement is used at all times.
If supplementation is not appropriate, this will be explained clearly.
Depending on the test result and clinical assessment, supplementation may include:
Provided where suitable based on Vitamin D level and individual factors
Dosing advice is given in line with UK clinical guidance
Considered where clinically appropriate following assessment
Administered by a qualified healthcare professional
Provided only after informed consent
Supplementation is not guaranteed and is not provided without clinical approval.
This service may be suitable for adults who:
Want to check their Vitamin D level
Have been advised previously to monitor Vitamin D
Prefer a private test-led service with professional guidance
This service may not be suitable for:
Children
Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals (unless clinically assessed)
Individuals with certain medical conditions affecting calcium or Vitamin D metabolism
Suitability is confirmed during consultation.
Vitamin D supplementation is not a treatment or cure for disease
No claims are made regarding prevention or management of medical conditions
Results from the rapid test are used to support clinical decision-making, not diagnosis
Where appropriate, patients will be referred to their GP or another healthcare provider
This service provides a Vitamin D rapid test and professional guidance on supplementation. It does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. If you have ongoing symptoms or complex medical conditions, please consult your GP or appropriate healthcare professional.
