  1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owner.

Similar technologies such as pixels, web beacons, and local storage work in a comparable way and are also covered by this policy.

  1. Your consent rights

Under UK law, we must obtain your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent before placing any non-essential cookies on your device. You have the right to:

  • Change or withdraw your consent at any time
  • Access a record of the consent you have given

You can exercise these rights at any time using our cookie preference centre, accessible via the cookie banner or the ‘Manage Cookie Preferences’ link at the bottom of every page.

  1. Google Consent Mode V2

We use Google Consent Mode V2, which adjusts the behaviour of Google’s tags (Google Analytics and Google Ads) based on the consent choices you make via our banner.

If you decline analytics or advertising cookies:

  • Google Analytics will operate in a cookieless mode and will not store an analytics identifier on your device. Google may use statistical modelling to estimate overall usage patterns.
  • Google Ads will not store an advertising identifier on your device. You may still see our adverts, but they will not be personalised based on your browsing behaviour.

This means your consent choices are technically enforced — declining is not merely a preference record.

  1. How to manage your cookie preferences

Via our cookie preference centre: Click ‘Manage Cookie Preferences’ in the footer of any page to review or update your choices at any time.

Via your browser settings: All major browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these under Settings → Privacy or Settings → Security. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of our website, including the ability to submit contact forms.

  1. Healthcare data — additional note

As a GPhC-registered pharmacy and private clinic, we are particularly mindful of the sensitivity of health-related information. We do not use cookies to collect information about specific health conditions, treatments, or prescriptions you may have enquired about. Our analytics cookies collect only aggregated, anonymised information about how pages are used — not what health services you viewed.

If you book an appointment or submit a health enquiry, that information is processed under our Privacy Policy and is handled in accordance with our clinical governance obligations.

  1. How long we keep consent records

We retain a record of your cookie consent for 6 months from the date it was given, in line with ICO guidance on consent duration. After 6 months, we will ask you to confirm your preferences again.

  1. Changes to this policy

We review this cookie policy regularly and will update it whenever we change the cookies we use or when the law requires it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.

Where we make material changes, we will notify you via the cookie banner on your next visit.

  1. Your data protection rights

In addition to your cookie consent rights, under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. To contact the ICO directly: ico.org.uk | 0303 123 1113.
