PCOS is diagnosed clinically, considering your symptoms, cycle history, and sometimes an ultrasound scan, alongside blood test results, rather than from blood tests alone. This panel checks the hormone and metabolic markers most commonly used to support a PCOS assessment, including testosterone, LH, FSH, and markers linked to insulin resistance and cholesterol, since PCOS is associated with metabolic changes as well as hormonal ones.
Your result is most useful when interpreted alongside your symptoms and cycle history, your pharmacist will discuss this with you and advise on whether further assessment, such as an ultrasound scan or a GP referral, would be helpful.
