GPhC Registered 9012617 £49 HIV 1 & 2 antibodies, p24 antigen Clinician-reviewed result
About this test

A combined test for earlier detection.

This test checks for antibodies against HIV types 1 and 2, alongside the p24 antigen, a viral protein that can be detected earlier than antibodies after a recent exposure. Combining both gives more reliable detection from an earlier stage than an antibody-only test.

There is a window period after exposure during which even a combined test may not yet detect infection. Your pharmacist can advise on appropriate timing based on your most recent potential exposure, and whether a repeat test at a later date is recommended.

Timing matters. There is a window period after exposure before this test becomes reliable. Your pharmacist can advise on the right timing for your situation.
Your result includes a clinician commentary. A clinician reviews your result and provides written context before it is sent to you.
