Can I get travel vaccines the same day?

Yes, in most cases. We offer same-day appointments for the majority of travel vaccines including yellow fever, typhoid, hepatitis A, and hepatitis B. Some courses require multiple doses over several weeks, so booking as early as possible gives you the best protection before you travel.

Is Veritas Pharmacy an approved Yellow Fever Centre?

Yes. Veritas Pharmacy is an officially designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre (YFVC). We can administer the yellow fever vaccine and issue the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), commonly known as the yellow card, on the same day as your appointment.

Do I need a GP referral for travel vaccines?

No. You can book directly with our travel health pharmacist without a GP referral. We provide a full travel health consultation, recommend the appropriate vaccines for your destination, and administer them in the same appointment.

How far in advance should I book?

Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines, such as the rabies pre-exposure course and hepatitis B, require multiple doses given over several weeks. Yellow fever, typhoid, and hepatitis A can often be given with less lead time, including same day. If you are travelling soon, contact us and we will do everything we can to protect you in time.

What is included in the travel health consultation?

Your consultation includes a review of your destination, itinerary, planned activities, and personal health history. Our pharmacist will recommend the vaccines and antimalarials appropriate for your trip, advise on food and water safety, insect precautions, and any other destination-specific health risks. The consultation is included in the cost of your vaccine appointment.

Can you provide antimalarial tablets?

Yes. Our prescribing pharmacist can assess and prescribe antimalarial tablets as part of your travel health consultation. The appropriate preparation depends on your destination, duration, and personal health history, which is why a clinical assessment is required before supply.

We are at 113 Chester Road, Sunderland SR4 7HG. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm for private services. Free parking is available nearby.
