Testosterone testing
(male).
Low energy, low libido, and reduced muscle mass can all be linked to low testosterone, though they can also have many other causes. We offer three levels of testing, from a simple first check through to a full safety monitoring panel for those on or starting testosterone replacement therapy. All results are clinician-reviewed within 24 to 48 hours.
Three levels, depending on your reason for testing.
Testosterone naturally declines with age, but low levels at any age can contribute to symptoms such as low energy, reduced libido, difficulty building or maintaining muscle, low mood, and poor concentration. We offer three levels of testing, so you only pay for the depth of information you actually need.
Our Testosterone Test is a straightforward first check of your testosterone level, a sensible starting point if you have not been tested before. Our Testosterone Profile Plus adds further markers that help calculate how much of your testosterone is actually available for your body to use, giving a fuller picture than a single number alone. Our Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) Profile is a comprehensive panel covering hormones, full blood count, liver, kidney, thyroid, cholesterol, and prostate markers, the kind of thorough safety monitoring typically required before starting, or while continuing, testosterone replacement therapy.
Which level is right for you?
Persistent low energy, low libido, or reduced muscle mass, and you have not been tested before. The standard Testosterone Test is a sensible starting point.
If you want to understand how much of your testosterone is actually available to your body, the Profile Plus adds the markers needed for this.
Clinics typically require a comprehensive baseline panel before starting treatment. The TRT Profile covers this.
Ongoing monitoring is an essential part of safe TRT, checking for treatment effect and picking up any safety concerns early.

What the £149 TRT Profile covers.
This panel is grouped below by what each set of markers is checking. It is designed to give a thorough safety picture before starting, or while continuing, testosterone replacement therapy, not just a testosterone number.
Testosterone, free testosterone calculation, free androgen index, sex hormone binding globulin, luteinising hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, oestradiol (E2), prolactin, thyroid-stimulating hormone, free T4, free T3.
Prostate specific antigen (PSA), an important safety marker, since testosterone therapy is not usually suitable without checking this first.
Haemoglobin, haematocrit, red cell count, mean cell volume, mean cell haemoglobin, mean cell haemoglobin concentration, red cell distribution width, white cell count, platelet count, mean platelet volume, neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils. Haematocrit in particular is closely monitored, since testosterone therapy can thicken the blood.
Alanine transaminase, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma glutamyl transferase, alkaline phosphatase, total bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin.
Creatinine, urea, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
Total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, HDL percentage, non-HDL cholesterol, total cholesterol to HDL ratio, triglycerides.
HbA1c (glycosylated haemoglobin), ferritin.
From appointment to results.
