About vitamin injections

Why choose injections over oral supplements?

Oral supplements are limited by gastrointestinal absorption, which varies considerably between individuals. Intramuscular vitamin delivery bypasses this limitation entirely, delivering nutrients directly into the bloodstream at full bioavailability. This is particularly significant for B12 in patients with absorption issues, and for rapid correction of deficiencies.

All injections at Veritas are preceded by a clinical assessment. We do not administer injections without first reviewing your health history and confirming clinical appropriateness.

Blood test first? We recommend testing for deficiency before starting a vitamin injection programme. Our blood test service covers all relevant vitamins and minerals.

FAQs

Vitamin injection FAQs.

Do I need a blood test before having vitamin injections?
For therapeutic injections (B12 for deficiency, Vitamin D loading dose), a blood test confirming deficiency is strongly recommended. For wellness injections, a blood test is not mandatory but helps set a baseline. We can perform the blood test at a prior appointment.
Are vitamin injections safe?
Yes, when administered by a trained clinician after appropriate assessment. All injections at Veritas are preceded by a clinical review. Adverse reactions are rare. You may be asked to remain for 15 minutes after each injection.
How often do I need injections?
This depends on the vitamin and your clinical need. Wellness injections can be monthly or as needed. Your pharmacist will advise on the appropriate frequency at your appointment.
Can I have multiple injections on the same visit?
Some combinations are administered together; others are given separately. Your pharmacist will advise on what is clinically appropriate and safe to combine at a single visit.
