Cortisol test.
Cortisol is your body’s main stress hormone, and both high and low levels can contribute to a wide range of symptoms, from fatigue and poor sleep to weight changes and low mood. This panel measures cortisol, with a clinician-reviewed result within 24 to 48 hours. The test itself is £125, plus a £35 phlebotomy fee for the blood draw.
Why timing matters for this test.
Cortisol is produced by the adrenal glands and follows a natural daily rhythm, generally highest shortly after waking and lowest at night. Persistently high or low cortisol can be linked to chronic stress, adrenal problems, and fatigue, though many other conditions can cause similar symptoms.
This panel measures cortisol as a single marker, giving a clear read on the pattern that matters most. Because cortisol follows a daily rhythm, this test is best done as an early morning sample for an accurate, comparable result. Your pharmacist will confirm timing when you book.
