Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is produced by the small follicles in your ovaries, and the level in your blood gives an indication of how many eggs you have remaining, often described as your ovarian reserve. It is a useful piece of information for fertility planning, particularly if you are considering IVF, thinking about when to try for a baby, or simply want a clearer picture of where you stand.
It is important to understand what this test does not tell you. AMH reflects egg quantity, not egg quality, and a normal result does not guarantee natural conception, while a lower result does not mean pregnancy is not possible. It is one piece of a much bigger picture, best discussed alongside your wider health, age, and family planning goals.
