Gluten Allergy Profile.
A detailed panel covering gluten allergy, gluten sensitivity, and coeliac disease markers, including genetic testing, to help distinguish between these different, commonly confused conditions.
Allergy, sensitivity, and coeliac disease are different things.
Reactions to gluten-containing foods can have several different underlying causes: a true gluten allergy (an IgE-mediated immune reaction), non-coeliac gluten sensitivity, or coeliac disease, an autoimmune condition where gluten damages the lining of the gut. This panel brings together markers for all three, including the genetic markers associated with coeliac disease risk, to help build a clearer overall picture.
This test takes longer than most of our other panels, with results typically available in around 2 weeks, given the specialist genetic component involved.
